Find items using box numbers, then confirm booking, authorisation, and transport; distinguish between mid-storage retrieval, delivery, and full batch withdrawal.
Short answer
To retrieve items during storage, provide box numbers or a clear inventory list, quantities, estimated date, and delivery address first, then have customer service confirm feasible retrieval and transport arrangements. Do not assume you can enter the storage area to rummage through boxes or get same-day delivery; the HK$300 mid-storage retrieval fee for the Central Warehouse does not include door-to-door delivery, and other services must be confirmed per their own terms.
Key summary
- Use codes for outer boxes; keep detailed lists yourself.
- State clearly what to take, how much, where to send, and when you want it.
- Mid-storage retrieval, delivery, and full withdrawal are different matters.
- Authorisation and verification procedures are required for collection by others.
1. Distinguish between partial retrieval, temporary borrowing and re-storing, and full withdrawal.
Taking a few boxes, taking items and re-storing later, and ending storage entirely are three different needs. Explain where items are going, whether the rest will continue to be stored, and if there is a plan to re-store, to avoid customer service interpreting it as a full withdrawal or a single delivery.
If you only need one item from a box, ask if it can be arranged and what the process is; do not assume staff can help you open sealed boxes to search. Item nature, packaging, and management methods may affect arrangements, and private documents should never be requested for others to rummage through.
2. Box inventory should be created before storage.
Use simple codes for each box, e.g., by room or category, and keep your own record of main contents and photos. Avoid writing ID numbers, customer names, or sensitive information on the outside; if the list matches the box number, you don't need to send private data to customer service later.
Pack items you plan to retrieve earlier separately from long-term items. If you add new boxes often, use the same numbering system and mark the storage date; do not reuse codes of retrieved boxes to avoid confusing new and old records.
3. Provide complete retrieval information at once.
When enquiring, declare the contact person, box numbers, quantity, desired retrieval date, and delivery address; for large items, explain accessories and whether disassembly is needed. If the address is different from the original, add floor, lift, and parking conditions—don't just say 'send back home'.
Estimated dates do not mean the schedule is set; wait for customer service confirmation before arranging reception. Available time slots, notification time, and ability to combine multiple requests are verified by service and scheduling, and we cannot promise all plans can handle same-day requests.
- Check inventory version and box numbers.
- Specify partial retrieval or full batch end.
- Provide address, recipient, and contact methods.
- Obtain confirmation of applicable fees and dates.
4. Mid-storage retrieval fees and door-to-door delivery must be understood separately.
The current mid-storage retrieval arrangement for One Plus One Central Warehouse is HK$300 per visit. This fee cannot be regarded as the monthly rent, total withdrawal fee, or total including door-to-door delivery; confirm what is included in retrieval and pickup/delivery separately.
Door-to-door Box Storage, Door-to-door Storage, and commercial services cannot directly apply the same amount. If you expect frequent retrieval, organise frequency and box counts before enquiring about overall arrangements, but do not assume combined retrieval is free or will automatically receive a discount.
5. Collection, address changes, and re-storing all need to be recorded.
If you cannot receive items yourself, clarify designated recipients, authorisation, and identity verification procedures, then submit necessary information. Knowing the box number does not equal authority to collect; friends, family, or colleagues collecting on your behalf should be arranged according to confirmed procedures, and quantities noted.
If you plan to re-store after retrieval, update the inventory and item condition before re-sealing, and enquire about the billing for the new transit and storage. Whether you can use original box numbers, if re-counting is needed, and if the rental period changes cannot be presumed based on the first arrangement.
6. Update remaining inventory after receiving items.
Check received items against numbers, and record any differences in accessories, disassembly, or packaging condition early. Keep an inventory marked with retrieval date, delivery address, and remaining quantities to avoid requesting the same box again next time or missing items split off already.
Partial retrieval does not necessarily change original billing units or total plan costs automatically; confirm if it affects subsequent storage fees based on box type, unit type, and terms. If remaining items need to be kept, also confirm expiry and payment—do not treat retrieval records as completed withdrawal.
Comparison at a glance

FAQs
- I only want one piece of clothing from the box, can I ask staff to help find it?
- You must confirm if such arrangement is available; you cannot assume staff can open boxes to search. We recommend separating frequently used items into dedicated boxes before storing; retrieving by box number also better protects your privacy and simplifies counting.
- Does the $300 retrieval fee for Central Warehouse include door-to-door delivery?
- It cannot be considered as inclusive of door-to-door delivery. This is an arrangement for mid-storage retrieval from the Central Warehouse; delivery, handling, and receiving locations must be checked separately, and this does not apply to other storage services.
- If I retrieve half of my items, is the rent definitely halved next month?
- Not necessarily. Fees may be calculated based on box types, storage types, plans, and lease terms, not simply by the proportion of the number of items. You should verify the applicable fees for remaining items with customer service before retrieval.
