From price lists and moving restrictions to batch retrieval, confirm details in advance to reduce misunderstandings during collection or delivery.
Short answer
Before booking storage, provide a list, dimensions, photos, address, storage duration, and retrieval frequency. Check monthly rent, collection/delivery, packing, stairs, dismantling/assembly, and other operational items one by one. Maintain written records for quotations, renewals, notifications, and protection requirements; discounts, rental periods, and retrieval fees for different services cannot be applied interchangeably.
Key summary
- View monthly fees and one-off charges separately.
- The quotation must correspond to the same version of the item list.
- Partial retrieval, rescheduling, and changing the address must be confirmed separately.
1. First, confirm items included and not included in the quote
Provide an item list, quantity, dimensions, photos, and estimated storage period when enquiring, and specify if you need packaging, disassembly, or special handling.
Beyond monthly fees, also ask clearly about the calculation methods for delivery, collection, moving, packaging, stairs, parking, and other potential items. The scope and limits of free arrangements should be based on the booking confirmation.
2. Establish a list before items are collected
Label every box and large item, and take photos of item conditions and packaging. Keep the box inventory list yourself and verify quantities by number during handover.
Valuables, documents, and items needed for the day should be set aside. Do not discover that essential items have been stored only after sealing the boxes.
3. Leave time for retrieval arrangements
When you need to retrieve items, provide the box or item numbers, delivery address, and preferred date, and confirm whether they can be returned as a whole or in batches.
Door-to-door storage does not mean you can retrieve items at the warehouse immediately, nor should you assume that your specified time slot will always be available. Available dates, notification time, and related charges must be confirmed by customer service.
4. Rental terms, renewals, and protection are subject to written confirmation
Before storing, confirm how rental periods are calculated, payment arrangements, renewal processes, termination notice requirements, and how late retrieval is handled; keep quotes and handover records.
If you have questions about protection against item damage or loss, understand the terms of service, reporting processes, and limits first. Do not assume any arrangement is included without written confirmation.
5. An enquiry checklist you can copy and use directly
When enquiring, organise your request into four parts: 'Items, Address, Date, Special Requirements'. The list should detail the name, quantity, and dimensions of each item or box; photos should show the full view, with separate notes for glass, stone surfaces, detachable parts, and existing damage.
In the address section, specify the floor, lift, stairs, village house or duplex arrangements, and locations where vehicles can stop. For dates, distinguish between storage entry, potential mid-term retrieval, and final withdrawal; mark unconfirmed parts as estimated to avoid treating tentative information as a confirmed booking.
6. Why is it easy to miscalculate if you only ask for the monthly price?
Rent may not cover every moving or packing need, and discounts might only apply to specific storage types and rental periods. When comparing, list confirmed one-off fees, total monthly rent for the period, estimated collection/delivery, and potential surcharges separately. Do not assume all fees will necessarily apply.
Mark unclear items as 'to be confirmed' and ask customer service to add applicable conditions to the written quotation. Do not manually apply another brand's or service's free shipping, minimum rental period, deposit, or mid-term retrieval rules to your budget.
7. Booking and handover are not the same step
After the quotation is confirmed, verify the date, contact person, item list, and site restrictions again. If you add items, change the address, or change the moving floor, notify the team before they depart, as this may change the required vehicle, manpower, time, or fees.
During handover, verify against item and box numbers, and retain records confirmed by both parties. Photos are for noting appearance and packing status; they cannot replace item declaration or automatically constitute proof of insurance. Related responsibilities are subject to the contract.
8. How to distinguish between renewal, partial retrieval, and final withdrawal?
Renewal is for extending storage; partial retrieval is taking out specified boxes or items while other items remain in storage; final withdrawal involves all items and termination of the arrangement. Procedures, booking requirements, and fees for these three differ; do not use the term 'retrieval' generically.
For example, while mid-term retrieval from the Central Warehouse costs HK$300 per trip, this does not mean all services, deliveries, or final withdrawals are charged the same way. Clearly specify which items to take, where to deliver, and whether you are renewing storage during your enquiry so we can confirm the applicable arrangements.

FAQs
- Can I get a quotation before packing is finished?
- You can provide an initial list, estimated box count, and dimensions of large items for a preliminary assessment, then update with the actual contents before confirmation. A preliminary estimate should not be treated as a fixed quote that remains unchanged if items increase.
- Can I retrieve only one box?
- Check with the service regarding whether partial retrieval is possible, the required notice period, and fees. Provide the box number and delivery address first; do not assume partial retrieval has the same arrangements as a full withdrawal.
- What happens if stairs or dismantling/assembly tasks are added after the quotation?
- You should proactively update the information and reconfirm arrangements and fees; the original quotation may not cover additional tasks, nor should it be assumed that the team can handle them immediately upon arrival.
